Issues relating to dementia and veterans with a history of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) have been identified as an area requiring investigation. Existing evidence is unclear and the magnitude of the issues is unknown. A scoping study undertaken by QLD DTSC sought to determine whether veterans with a history of PTSD display symptoms of dementia differently to those without PTSD, and to identify care related issues and strategies.
