The INSPIRED Study (Improving service provision for younger onset dementia) provides us the knowledge to understand the requirements for optimal service provision for persons with younger onset dementia (YOD). It documents the diagnostic and care pathways for younger people with dementia. It will also provide information about the epidemiology and clinical features, such as medical comorbidity and behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD). Persons with YOD have different service needs, and do not fit in with mainstream dementia services geared towards the elderly population.
