THIS IS A PILOT WORKSHOP AND IS

People living with dementia (PWD) and their family carers frequently identify the management of medicines as being a particularly challenging aspect of care.  PWD often take multiple medicines in complex, frequently changing regimens, and inappropriate use of these medications can result in serious adverse outcomes.

Community pharmacies are the most commonly visited healthcare destination by carers of PWD who still live at home.  Community pharmacists are the most accessible healthcare professional, and they are perceived as an important member of the medication management team by PWD and their carers.  This workshop will develop an understanding of the unique needs of PWD and their carers within community pharmacies, to improve medication management for these people.
