The Dementia Training Study Centres (DTSC) and the Dementia Collaborative Research Centres (DCRC) are excited to present a series of 2 day workshops around Australia.

Designing for People with Dementia

Facilitated by: Ms Kirsty Bennett & Ms Terri Preece

This workshop:

• Looks at ways the built environment can improve the daily experience of people living with dementia in acute and residential aged care settings.
• Introduces audit tools and applies them to case studies.

Who should attend:
Facility manager, clinical & allied health managers, architects, health planners, project manager, health professionals and design consultants.

 DAY TWO: Wednesday 2 March 2016

Care Strategies for Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia

Facilitated by: Ms Kim Burns

This workshop will:

• Increase participants awareness of evidence-based resources that outline key principles and strategies to assist in the care of people with dementia who present with behavioural and psychological symptoms.
• Feature practical resources based on the document Behaviour Management – A guide to Good Practice: Managing Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia

Who should attend:
Those providing or managing care for people with dementia who present with responsive behaviours in residential and community aged care settings.

EACH WORKSHOP will also include a discussion on some of the specific opportunities and challenges when translating new learnings into your  work place.  This discussion will be facilitated by A/Prof Belinda Goodenough.
