HDS-R workshops and Online Forum

WA DTSC is continuing their program of “train the trainer” workshops for the Hierarchic Dementia Scale-Revised (HDS-R).

So far Terrie Simpson has presented ten workshops around the country, training 170 participants in the use of the HDS-R to assess the cognitive abilities of people with dementia and to create individualised care plans from the results. The workshops have been attended by a diverse range of health professionals including nurses, occupational therapists, GPs, speech pathologists, physiotherapists and social workers. Each attendee receives a suite of resources to enable them to pass the knowledge on to their colleagues.

A training workshop via video conferencing is planned for early April to enable staff in rural and remote locations to be involved. For more information on all workshops see Events.

A forum for users and people interested in the HDS-R is also available on the DTSC website. HDS-R Forum
