Dementia and Homelessness Report

The Department of Social Services has just approved the release of the Dementia and Homelessness report that was prepared by the National Ageing Research Institute (NARI) on behalf of the Victoria and Tasmania Dementia Training Study Centre (DTSC).

Issues relating to dementia in homeless populations has been identified by the Department of Social Services as a priority area.

Little is known about the issue or the dementia education needs of health professionals working in this sector.

To this end the Vic/Tas DTSC produced a literature review and partner organisation the National Ageing Research Institute (NARI) conducted a focus group with a key service provider specialising in this area.
