Dementia Fundamentals: Links between Dementia Related Behaviours, Quality of Life and Lifestyle Activities

This lecture mainly focuses on the links between lifestyle activities and Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD).

It provides a brief overview of dementia and its causes, and then a discussion of how to understand behaviours in dementia and their impact on the person’s quality of life.

A practical evidence-based framework to assess behaviours is also discussed, as well as general lifestyle activities that can help reduce BPSD in people with dementia.
