End of life care for people with severe dementia

Care workers providing end of life care to people experiencing severe dementia in residential facilities

This presentation describes a collaborative study undertaken by Catholic Homes Inc. (CHI) and the School of Nursing & Midwifery at Curtin University.

The study sought to elicit the experiences of CHI care workers providing end of life care to people living with severe dementia. We will explain the discussions that prompted the study, the methodological approach, and preliminary findings. Implications for CHI and other care providers will also be outlined.
