Delivering competent dementia care: Who can do it?

Delivering competent dementia care: Who can do it?

This lecture presents an inter-disciplinary Dementia Care Competency Framework (DCCF) for managers and practitioners working in nursing and allied health care teams in community and health care settings.

The competency framework is made up of 10 core competencies and describes ‘essential’, ‘enhanced’ and ‘expert’ practice for Enrolled Nurses, Registered Nurses, allied health and medical practitioners.

An interdisciplinary dementia care competency framework has not previously been developed anywhere else in the world.
