This seminar will provide awareness of the vital role of design in meeting the needs of older people and people with cognitive disability, including dementia, with a focus on highlighting the potential benefits of design and the provision of an enabling physical environment.  This seminar will include case study overviews of Bates Smart Whitefield McQueen Irwin Alsop Joint Venture’s Dandenong Mental Health Facility, winner of the 2014 Australian Institute of Architects National Award for Public Architecture, and Allen Kong Architect’s Potter Street Redevelopment, Dandenong, which received an honourable mention in the 2014 UIA Prize Friendly spaces accessible to all.

This event is delivered in partnership with the Australian Institute of Architects Victorian Chapter.
