Dr Dolly Dastoor, Clinical Psychologist and developer of the HDS from McGill University, Quebec, Canada and Terrie Simpson, Occupational Therapist and Project Officer, WA Dementia Training Study Centre will provide an overview of the original Hierarchic Dementia Scale (HDS) tool and the recent refinements to it.

The Hierarchic Dementia Scale is a unique assessment tool for dementia which assesses both abilities and limitations across twenty different cognitive functions allowing the creation of highly individualised care plans.
