This event is hosted by the Dementia Dynamics Toolkit Project, Flinders University.

Professor Dawn Brooker (UK) will review her work on VIPS, the guiding principles of person centred dementia care and present two new exciting studies of person-centred principles in the practice session.

Professor Brooker has worked internationally for many years and she is part of the G7 Global Action on Dementia. In 2015 she took the lead on Global Action on Personhood (GAP) in Dementia Care to promote ways of sharing best practice in skilled dementia care across the world.

COST: $253 (inc GST)

The afternoon session will include a Q&A with a panel of experts including:

  • Professor Richard Fleming (Director of the NSW/ACT DTSC, University of Wollongong)
  • Dr Sam Davis (Course Coordinator for the post graduate degree program in Applied Gerontology, and lead in the Dementia Dynamics™ Toolkit project at Flinders University, SA)
  • Mr Bernie McCarthy (founder of McCarthy Psychology Services and VET Registered McCarthy Training, Clinical Psychologist, Dementia Care Mapping trainer, author and lecturer for Flinders University, SA)
  • Dr Margaret Winbolt (Director of the VIC/TAS DTSC, La Trobe University)
