There is a growing recognition of the importance of thoughtful design to enable people living with dementia to maximise their abilities and opportunities and yet we continue to see poorly designed health, aged and public spaces created, why is this? This lecture will explore:
- What have we learnt about good dementia design?
- Where are the barriers to implementing what we know?
- How to make design decisions using care philosophy
- Using dementia design tools and resources to get great outcomes
About the presenter: Jason Burton is General Manager of Education, Research and Consultancy at Alzheimer’s Australia WA. He leads a team of dementia design specialists as part of the Dementia Enabling Environment Project (DEEP) and has over 25 years clinical and leadership experience in dementia care.
