Issues relating to dementia in homeless populations has been identified by the Department of Social Services as a priority area.

Little is known about the issue or the dementia education needs of health professionals working in this sector.

To this end the Vic/Tas DTSC produced a literature review and partner organisation the National Ageing Research Institute (NARI) conducted a focus group with a key service provider specialising in this area.

The literature review and a report on the findings of the dementia related issues facing health professionals working with homeless people and the identification of their dementia education needs are available for download.
