9th National Dementia Research & Knowledge Translation Forum 2015

9th National Dementia Research & Knowledge Translation Forum 2015

For the first time, the DTSCs co-hosted the annual forum showcasing Australian dementia research and implementation with the Dementia Collaborative Research Centres. Held in Sydney over two days (September 7-8), the event is a unique forum of exchange in the national calendar for knowledge ‘generators’ to meet with knowledge ‘users’.

More than 250 attendees (over half were service providers, health professionals, educators, consumers, carers, and policy representatives) enjoyed 60 presentations over 2 days on the theme of Science and Practice: The Big Questions. This included a showcase session for DTSC projects on dementia education and training, chaired by Dr Andrew Stafford (DTSC WA). A forum highlight was the Knowledge Translation in Dementia Care colloquium facilitated by Prof Richard Fleming (DTSC NSW/ACT) , which was a well attended followup to the DTSC-led Round Table on this topic in March 2015.
